i taught i would post a couple of tools which are available to do this, unfortunately the function is not within exchange 2010 and you need third party tools… or you can put exchange 2007 in place first migrate to that and then to 2010 using the microsoft free tools (Microsoft Transporter Suite Download Here)

Personally, i would recommend trying going to exchange 2007 first as the other caveat you might not be aware of is that if for some reason you need something that was in exchange 2007 functionality but have gone straight to 2010 there is no way of bring a 2007 server in, so i would go the distance and go 2007 and then 2010..

but that’s my choice 🙂

Just caught this blog post and think it is very useful…. being able to find out what’s wrong and implementing the corrective actions before deploying and exchange new / upgrade installation would be invaluable from my perspective

lets hope the rest of the teams come out with these tools or even better a consolidated tool which you just selct the product kinda like the best practice analyzers

i installed this the other day as i taught cool a nice little plugin but only to have my outlook 2010 beta crash EVERY 20 mins
